Chennai, May 17, 2022 – Saint-Gobain India and Sembcorp Green Infra’s (SGIL) subsidiary Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd. (GIWEL) have partnered to sign a long-term wind-solar hybrid energy supply agreement. 

Chennai, Tamil Nadu: The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M.K.Stalin, inaugurated today - Float Glass Plant, an Integrated Windows Line, and Saint-Gobain – SIPCOT Urban Forest at Saint-Gobain's World Glass Complex at Sriperumbudur, in the presence of Mr.Benoit Bazin, CEO of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain and Mr.B.Santhanam, CEO, Asia Pacific & India Region, Saint-Gobain.

Saint-Gobain India and IIT Madras Research Park have signed an MoU today to develop a 100% Renewable Energy (RE) – Research Park. As part of the MoU, Saint-Gobain India will be supporting IIT Madras Research Park with a funding of INR 1 crore (€110,000) over the next 3 years. Through this collaboration, the aim is to boost the transformation towards a low carbon future and to aid India in achieving 100% renewable energy.

Saint-Gobain has acquired a minority stake in Livspace, a digital-first company that is rapidly growing in India and South-East Asia.

Livspace is a digital-first intermediation platform offering end-to-end solutions for home interiors, from design to installation. Dr. Raghu Sharma, Hon’ble Health Minister of Rajasthan inaugurated Oxygen generation plant (to support 200 beds) at Mahila Chikitsalaya in Jaipur in the august presence of Shri.Kalicharan Saraaf, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly from Jaipur city. The plant was donated by Saint-Gobain as part of its COVID relief support to the state of Rajasthan. The Health Minister highly praised Saint-Gobain India for stepping up and complementing the efforts of the Government during these unprecedented testing times.

Thiru. Ma Subramanian, Hon’ble Health Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated Oxygen generation plant (to support 200 beds) and a 3D printed Doffing Unit at Omandurar Medical College and Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He also virtually inaugurated the 3D printed doffing unit installed in Government Headquarters Hospital, Kanchipuram, and also virtually laid the foundation stone for the doffing unit coming up in Government Medical College and Hospital,Thiruvallur.

Saint-Gobain launched its premium Shower Cubicle range at exclusive functions in Bangalore and Cochin yesterday. The range will be manufactured at its purpose built highly automated & digitalized plant. The shower cubicle range is part of   Saint-Gobain’s My Home suite of innovative solutions for homes. MyHome solutions cover multiple applications in homes and include services from design to installation.

To meet the growing demand of the glass markets – both domestic and international, Saint-Gobain inaugurated three world class facilities – a third float glass manufacturing plant, an advanced magnetron coater and glass solutions line and a 72 Mn capacity Rainwater harvesting reservoir, at the World Glass Complex, Sriperumbudur. Each of these facilities was dedicated to the nation by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru Edappadi K. Palaniswami on January 28th 2019. Set up with an investment of over INR 1200 Crs, this takes the cumulative investment in the World Glass Complex, Sriperumbudur to more than INR 3000 Crs.
